A Tangled Boat Inspired Party

 

Inside the invite - I commissioned the help of illustrator Michelle of Intrigue Design Studio to create this custom, hand-painted, illustration of M in a boat.  

My sister created the most "dreamy" and soft cake with lovely ruffle details made to resemble water waves, and the most realistic looking rowboat on top ready for M to jump in! 

  

I really wanted the dessert buffet to be regal, rich and elegant - so I used loads of satin, velvet and gold on the table. To bring in the boat/water elements I chose desserts that could be spun off in wording for water elements.    

   I used gold trays from my party rental arsenal and a sweet vintage berry basket-find, from my local Goodwill, to serve all of the sweets in. 

Amber of SweetAmbs created these delicious and elegant sugar cookies that perfectly matched the illustrated flower on the boat.

These gorgeous oversized blackberry lollipops from Vintage Confections were one of my daughter's favs and the absolute perfect size for little hands to hold.  

We served chocolate covered "Oar" -eos with a lovely wooden texture to resemble the wood of the oars of the boat in the movie, and served 

grape soda or "moat water" - to continue the water theme. 

Damaris of Taylored Desserts made these yummy chocolate pudding cake pops in a shimmery gold and lavender tone to serve as our "Specks of Light" for the table.
